Reunions
are
what this association is all about , getting to meet up once again with
our old oppos . This
year reunion will be held once again back in Cardiff
and Llandaff by
request of the members who decided the location at last years reunion . It
will again be a weekend affair as some members travel from far away places
around the world to be with us Shipmates, Captain George Oxley has agreed to be this years Guest of Honour at this years reunion , over 40 of you are now booked in , those of you sitting on the fence , please get your booking forms off to me ASAP as I only have a a short time in which to confirm numbers to the Hotel regards Slinger The
Holiday Inn Cardiff city centre has once again given us the deal Reunion
will be held over the weekend of the 28th and 29th
September 2007 . on the evening of the 28th (Friday ) We
will meet up once again at the Llandaff Institute club for a get together
then on the Saturday evening we will muster in great numbers in the
conference room at the Holiday inn for a formal reunion Dinner with
entertainment and a guest speaker . We
will have the use of the conference room until 0200 with the bar at
cheaper prices than the Hotel
Bar on the ground floor . Don’t
forget this reunion is not just for
Shipmates but includes all wives,
partners and guests Prices
:::: a Double room or twin works out at £184 per room per stay of
2 nights (2 persons)
a Single room works out at £132 per room per stay of 2 nights (1
person ) The
rate above includes Breakfast and Reunion Dinner Just
half the rate for a one night stay!!! For
Non Residents The Reunion Dinner will cost £20 per head The
cost of covering all reunion expenses will be £15 per head (entertainment
etc) So
the total cost will be for 2 persons for the weekend is £ 214 and for one
person £ 147 For
those who do not require accommodation the total cost for the Dinner and
reunion is £35 per head The
above rate is a special rate that has been drawn up for our association
and is lower than the normal Holiday inn weekend rate so all bookings must
go through the association. Reunion
2007 is ticking along quite nicely and so far up to date we have around
about 65 booked in for the reunion Dinner on the Saturday evening. Quite
a few of you are still not sure on whether or not you can make reunion
this year, if you would like accommodation fixed up you must let me know
by the end of July after this date I am afraid that you will have to make
your own arrangements as this is the cut off date that the Hotel have
given me. If
you would like to attend the Reunion Dinner and also enjoy the
entertainment that has been laid on that’s fine , all you have to do is
send off a booking form to me with a cheque payable to HMS Llandaff
association , The cost of
this is £35 per head . for the menu click here I
am hoping to get the choice of menu from the hotel very soon and as soon
as it’s in my hands I will forward it onto all those who are attending.

Oxley the last skipper of the Llandaff has agreed to be our Guest (After
dinner speaker) at the reunion dinner. One
other thing that I intend to introduce at this years reunion is (UP
SPRITS) before we sit down
for Dinner so look out the first commission boys I am looking for a couple
of Rum Rats to perform the honors , Don’t panic I will supply the grog
all you have to do is issue Nelsons Blood. I
have had a Buzz that some of you would like to just pop in at the Reunion
Dinner just to say hi to the Skipper and a few other shipmates??

I am sorry Lads that if
you want to enter the reunion Function room you will have to be booked in
we do have a dress code as it is a formal Dinner and costs each one of us
£35. One last thing regarding reunion, as I am on Leave out in the far flung for the best part of August if you haven’t already paid up in full your reunion fees could you please do so before the end of August as on my return to our now Nanny state I have to pay the balance in full to the Holiday Inn and please remember that all cheques must be made payable to The HMS LLANDAFF ASSOCIATION. Accommodation
It
would be nice to keep
everyone under the same roof however if you feel that you can get a better
rate else where please feel free to do so and then book the reunion dinner
through myself on the booking form . Wine
for your tables for this year’s dinner is priced at £15.95 per bottle
with a 20% discount if pre ordered it is hoped to have around about 8
persons to a table for comfort and We
will try and put commissions and friends together. Please let Kevin
know if you would like to sit next to a particular person or come to that
avoid somebody ha ha At
this time The
association has
secured a contract directly with the manager of the Holiday Inn and have
reserved at this time 20 Doubles, 5 Twins and 5 single Cabins , There
is a need to confirm numbers
within the next 2 months so
please DO NOT SIT ON THE GANGWAY please send Kevin
your booking forms with a deposit of £50
or payment in full . Those just paying a deposit have to get the
Balance payment to
Kevin by the 28th of August. If
times are difficult at the moment and we all have those just send your
booking forms with part payments any time from now until August. Please
make sure that all cheques are payable to HMS LLANDAFF ASSOCIATION. Any
member from overseas please e mail Kevin
for alternative arrangements as he
can except major credit cards subject to a 3% card handling fee. Cancellation
Bookings may be cancelled in full (in Writing) 4 weeks prior to the reunion without incurring a charge. Charges will apply after this date. (Hotel Conditions of contract) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don’t
forget membership monies are due in January 2007 £3 per year, please make
all cheques payable to HMS Llandaff association
